Application Instructions
PREPARATION
- You must start by reading through the requirements for the list on which you seek placement. You must also read about the "Placement Process" as well as the "FAQ" which should answer most questions about paperwork needed and types of projects that can be considered.
- Please do not open a new application until you are ready to upload ALL required documents. Incomplete applications and all supporting documents will be automatically deleted from the system in 60 days from the date you open a new application.
- CQL electronic applications allow you to upload a .pdf version of all documents required for review and placement on the Qualification Lists.
- The more organized your electronic documentation on your own computer or device, the easier the online application process will be.
- We prefer that you prepare all documents in .pdf format, either letter or legal size. You may do this by scanning, or by changing the file type.
- For a streamlined application process, please organize documents on your own device first. This may be done by project/production. This is only a suggestion for organizing documents. Example:
- PROJECT A FOLDER
- Project A Call Sheets Subfolder
- Call Sheet file #1, in chronological order, such as Days 1-10 (more/fewer depending on file size)
- Call Sheet file #2, in chronological order, such as Days 11-20 (more/fewer depending on file size)
- Call Sheet file #3, in chronological order, such as Days 21-30 (more/fewer depending on file size)
- Etc. …each of these files must be under 5MB
- Project A Production Reports/DPRs Subfolder
- Production Report file #1, in chronological order, such as Days 1-10 (more/fewer depending on file size)
- Production Report file #2, in chronological order, such as Days 11-20 (more/fewer depending on file size)
- Production Report file #3, in chronological order, such as Days 21-30 (more/fewer depending on file size)
- Etc. …each of these files must be under 5MB
- Project A Pay Documentation Subfolder
- Pay doc file #1, in chronological order
- Pay doc file #2, in continued chronological order
- Pay doc file #3, in continued chronological order
- Etc. …each of these files must be under 5MB
- Crew List
- Project A Call Sheets Subfolder
- PROJECT B FOLDER...etc.
- PROJECT A FOLDER
- You cannot drag entire folders into our system but you can drag/drop up to 40 files at one time as long as each file is under 5MB.
- Alternatively, it is fine to drop each call sheet or PR as a single file.
- Each upload may take some time depending on its size and/or your internet speed. The more files you drag/drop at a time, the slower the upload will take.
- If your file name contains special characters, it may not open correctly on our site and may delay your review.
- All jobs must be within 20 years.
- If you are manually scanning documents into .pdfs, please check your work. Documents skipped in the scanner or doubled up, will obscure pertinent information. Incomplete documents will be rejected.
- We do not offer advice on scanning, formatting, changing file types or any other computer-based inquiries. For support with, management of, or guidance with your own device and its documents, please consult a trusted IT technician.

APPLICATIONS AND PROJECTS

- You can only submit one application at a time. If you would like to be considered for multiple Qualification Lists using one application, please email us with that request.
- Incomplete applications will not be processed. You must submit all required documentation, for the required number of days. Do not attempt to submit an incomplete application, as it will be deleted from the system.
- Click "Add Project" to complete each project card with which you are applying.
- Under "Production Name" of the project card, please use the most recent project title and/or actual title. Optionally, include an AKA or code name for a project.
- Include the season number if you are submitting an episodic show, for example, "The Walking Dead: Season 2".
- Please remember, CQL does not accept student films, animated projects, and low budget streaming that does not fall under the high-budget AVOD guidelines.
- In the "Dates of Employment" please choose month, day, and year for the paid days you are claiming. Dates are required.
- Please count all call sheets and/or production reports to come up with the total number of shooting days.
- Shooting days must include talent (cast/stunts/background/SI). Days on drone/plate/insert units without talent do not count as shooting days and days that are inserts/b-roll/establishing without talent do not count as shooting days. Days that are promos/stills/photo shoot do not count.
- Prep days are any other paid days before and during the shoot that do not have a call sheet and/or PR. Hiatus, paid holidays, and completion of assignment days are not counted as prep or wrap.
- When you have finished filling out the project card, click "Save Project" at the bottom.
- Repeat this process for each additional project card.
